Last updated: 2025
1. Purpose and scope
This Privacy Policy is part of our relationship with you and works together with our Terms of Service. It applies to the Words of Eras mobile application, this website, and any related online or offline services offered by us. Words of Eras is operated by RSB Artesania Digital, S.L. (RSB), with registered office at Ronda Universitat 33, 2º 1ª B, 08007 Barcelona, Spain. We process personal data in line with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and other applicable laws.
If you do not agree with this policy or the Terms of Service, please do not install or use our services. We are not responsible for the practices, content or data handling of third-party sites, apps or services that you may reach from our app or website. We may update this Privacy Policy; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
2. Types of data we collect
We collect data that is necessary to provide and improve our services. The types and extent depend on how you interact with us.
From the app and device: When you use the app we may collect or receive technical and usage data such as device type, operating system and version, a device or advertising identifier (e.g. for analytics or ads), language and time zone, session length, screens or levels used, and progress-related data. This helps us run the app, fix issues and understand usage. We do not collect payment card or bank details; in-app purchases are handled by the app stores (e.g. Apple, Google), which have their own privacy policies.
From this website: When you visit this site we may collect your IP address, browser type, pages visited and similar technical data. We may use cookies and similar technologies as described below.
When you contact us: If you email us or use a contact form, we collect the data you provide (e.g. email address, message content) to respond and provide support.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of data (e.g. health, precise location, financial data beyond what the stores process) for the game itself.
3. How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the app and website
- Improve gameplay, fix bugs and develop new features
- Understand usage in aggregate and analyse trends
- Respond to your requests and provide support
- Send important service-related messages (e.g. security or policy updates) where applicable
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the safety of users
We may also create anonymised or aggregated statistics that cannot identify you, and use them for analysis, research or improvement of our services.
4. Cookies and similar technologies (website)
This website may use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage) for operation (e.g. preferences), performance (e.g. understanding how the site is used) and, if we use analytics, to measure traffic. You can control or delete cookies via your browser settings; blocking them may affect how the site works. We do not use cookies for sensitive personal data. Where we use third-party analytics or advertising tools, they may set their own cookies or identifiers subject to their privacy policies.
5. Advertising and third-party services
If the app or website shows advertising, our ad partners may collect or receive data such as device or advertising identifiers, IP address and usage data (e.g. that an ad was shown or clicked) to deliver and measure ads. This may include interest-based or behavioural advertising. Those partners have their own privacy policies and may offer opt-out tools (e.g. via your device settings or industry pages). We may use analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics or similar) that process data on our behalf; we require them to protect data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We are not responsible for the data practices of third parties.
6. How we may share your data
We may share data:
- With service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics) who process data on our behalf under contract and only for the purposes we define
- Where required by law, court order or to protect our or others’ rights, safety or property
- In connection with a merger, sale of assets or restructuring, in which case your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing. We require processors to keep your data confidential and secure.
7. International transfer
Your data may be stored or processed in the European Union or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. When we transfer data outside the EEA we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with applicable law (e.g. standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms). Laws in those countries may differ from your country of residence. By using our services you acknowledge such transfers.
8. Your choices and opt-out
You can control certain uses of your data:
- Marketing: If we send marketing emails, you can unsubscribe via the link in the email or by contacting us.
- Push notifications: You can disable them in your device settings.
- Cookies: Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies on this website.
- Advertising identifier: On your mobile device you can reset or limit the use of the advertising ID (e.g. in privacy or ad settings), which may limit personalised ads.
Opting out may not stop all use of previously collected data (e.g. for legal or security reasons) and may affect some features of the app or site.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. in the EU)
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within the time limits required by law and may need to verify your identity.
10. Data retention
We keep your data only for as long as needed to provide the services, fulfil the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax, disputes) or enforce our agreements. After that we delete or anonymise it. Some data may be retained longer where the law requires it.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data (e.g. secure servers, access controls). No system or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will inform you and the relevant authority where required by law.
12. Children
Our services are not aimed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some regions, e.g. certain EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in those age groups. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected a child’s data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly except where we must retain it by law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this website and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes we may notify you by email, in the app or by another appropriate means where required by law. If we use your data for a new purpose that requires your consent, we will seek it or offer an opt-out where applicable. Continued use of our services after the changes means you accept the updated policy.
